it wasn't until i was bored and was randomly finding cars on this site (to find interesting comments from owners or enthusiasts, both of whom are in dwindling numbers compared to the idiots) that i came across this saab. though i have driven in exotic cars like the new m3 i have little or no money to buy a car of my own. saabs are great because a 5 year old car loses about 75% of its value (due to high maintenence costs and people who don't treat them well) so you can pick up a '97 900 turbo for 4000 to 6000 US dollars, depending on the mileage. while they are reliable, luxurious everyday drivers, i don't think they really belong on a performance car site like this one. besides suspension issues, saabs are traditionally front wheel drive. (i think they have been fwd since production.) anyways, saab seems to be trying to expand their horizons from reliable, cheap, foreign luxury to more tantalizing markets, like younger buyers who are into trendy cars. which brings me to this odd hybrid. saab wants performance and utility wrapped in a cool, stylish new package, and while i respect the fact that saab is trying to stay true to its fwd roots, if they want to expand their horizons they have gotta start being more open and changing their platforms. for a mix like this 9-x, it seems all wheel drive would be the way to go. the awd would help with performance, with hauling weight, and with grip on the road. as a saab driver those are my two cents anyway. o-name

Michael Mauer and Anthony Lo did a very good job with the 9-X. This car is definitely the classical 900 revival in spirit ! Designing a Saab is not something easy as it MUST be something different to the current production cars. And it has to combined conveniency and sportivity. So...well done guys ! Hope it will come to the market not too modified from the original concept.
