They always try and solve the problem by bolting on a supercharger. Plus is there an AMG A-class in the works? I know theres an M2 in the works but the AMG A sounds like trouble...

it cant be as bad as the ML55, but surely if the M1 and M2 will be coming out with the 180kw engine, there'll be a 2nd gen AMG A20 or something stupid....theyre like the German Ford and Holden afterall, always gotta be competitive with each other

I didn't think AMG would embarass themselves by making a 'performance' FWD. I think BMW is gonna name the M 1 series the M2, so as not to sully the holy 'M1' tag

well theyre still gunna make the 2 series, so IMO its more logical to just save it for that, unless there was no M version of the 1 series planned.....

theyve already embarrased themselves with the ML55, if they can make the A class AWD or something, why not go for it?

It still looks stupid to me, plus I can't really see the target audience for an AMG A-class...

I think everyone in MB was embarrassed with the M-class in general

well i guess we'll just have to wait and see what they decide to do.....the M2 will be in a market of its own, perhaps with only the S3 to compete with

Well thats true, I can see a target audience for the M2, I would consider one if I had the money and if it lives up to the M tag. A rear drive, high revving hatch....with 4 exhausts

    Sounds good to me

i think they'll be sticking a 3L straight six in, i guess theyre continuing the hand-me-down game after the M3/M4 got the 4L V8, so it could prove interesting, but i dunno, 4 exhaust tips from 6 cylinders isnt right

we're at a disadvantage cause we're paying more for them than the UK and the US are, the damn government are screwing around with the imports with the stupid import taxes and such shit. ive said it before, an E46 M3 in the UK, directly converted is about as much as a Y series GTS was, a little more but it depended on the $$$.....it ended up nudging over 6 figures, and thats with the UK's inflated market. for instance, we pay $60K for the Monaro, the US pays $50K for the GTO and the UK pays $70K

Think about us poor Brits, highest car prices in Europe.
AND if you always fancied a M-B and couldn't afford it you THEN get a slap in the face if you travel to Frankfurt where EVERY taxi is a brand new M-B (slight exageration) BUT they are real cheap there, REAL cheap.
Price fixing just sucks regardless of whether it's the manufacturer or the government
