So when does the rest of the world get the 135i?

Nice. When's it going to be called the M1? Or is that deemed sacrilege?
maybe M2, i think there are enough german cars to cover all the british road names. Can someone make an A93 for me?

Well, I'm waiting for the M25, M68 and M27 Eastbound to be madeOriginally Posted by jediali
Classic post right there. They should call it the N-M1 (New-M 1) or something. or M1b

Why are they introducing it with a 3.5 litre. Seems like a waste on such a tiny car? The 3 series comes in a 2.5 and yet somehow this manages to get a 3.5 litre engine?

the bmw 35i engine is a twin turbo version of the N52 3.0 straight 6Originally Posted by bmwpower

It is a sacrilege for such an ugly car to be named the same as damn fine classic bimmer. On the other hand, does anyone think that the 3-litre twin turbo engine in the 1-series is overkill? I do.Originally Posted by IWantAnAudiRS6

Actually, I wouldn't mind an extra BMW or two here in the states. I would actually welcome it too.
*ducks for cover*
I think it's kinda overkill, I thought the 130i M Sport was a tad OTT, but of course there's the Audi A3 3.2FSI and the VW Golf R32. I came to like the Bee Em. BUT apparently it gets all skittery on uneven ground.

the 35i engine seems quite advanced for a C segment hatch. ANd as for price? it seems lopsided to pay a whack for a car because of the engine alone.

I'm intrigued to see how they price this thing.
The 335i is around $39,000, the Mini Cooper S is around $20,000. Bearing in mind that the Audi A3 3.2 is around $34,000, I can't see you getting much change from $35,000 for a 135i, which seems a little bit daft when compared to the lovely 335i.
Apologies for the use of the Audi for a benchmark, perhaps it's not actually relevant, but my understanding of USA car prices is a bit poor so it seemed like a realistic benchmark.
Holy s**t! The price! The 130i's price tag was whoppingly big, imagine the 135i! Jebus!
