Chassis:
Chassis J12-C-387 was the third and last all new Group C Jaguar built by TWR for the 1987 season. Unlike the previous two 'sprint cars', this XJR-8 was finished in endurance specification and debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Driven by Raoul Boesel, Eddie Cheever and Jan Lammers, it started the race in third and eventually finished fifth. For the remainder of the season, it mainly served as a T-car before being pressed into service for the Spa 1000 km, which it duly won in the hands of John Dumfries, Martin Brundle and Boesel. Chassis J12-C-387 was the only one not updated to XJR-9 specification and following a restoration it was sold to a European collector in 1989. On the market for the first time in many years, chassis 387 was consigned to the 2013 Bonhams Goodwood Revival sale. It failed to sell but has since joined the stable of a British historic racer. Prepared by Motohistorics, it was first pressed back into action at the 2018 Espiritu de Montjuic.
