| puting an end to the engine debate |
| Zonda_man 10-21-2004 |
I am sick of hearing people you act like they no what there talking about trying to explain zondas merc v12. Some say oh he cant afored to build his own. Some say oh there wasnt a big enough engine in italy. People the reason he has a merc engine is simple. If you do your zonda homework the car was made as a tribute to juan manuel fangio. A world record holding f1 driver if you didnt know. Mr. Pagani went to his house for dinner and discused with him that he wanted to build a car in his honour and told him about his idea. juan manuel said "if you want to build this car as a tribute to me it must have a merc engine. I am a merc man and will always be. Pagani came to him with the merc V12 and Juan Manuel gave his aproval. |

This is the best answer Horatio Pagani could give to Ferrari and Lamborghini,ok the Enzo and the murcielago is nice but the Zonda C12s is a monster, week 25 i was in turin,me and my businnes dealer, then on the high way it came in 2 km/h faster then my 993 biturbo, and there it was,the zonda,a black one, whit the legend inside and driving slow and nice,Horatio Pagani him self,so after that day I promised my self that I wont create an family, get maried or somthing like that,im going to save allot of money, start an own company then sell my ugly 993 and buy one black zonda c12s...That day is hot... |
| PAGANI RULES! |
| CARXPERT 7-5-2003 |
Between a crappy diablo (how do you liek that pice of s---?) a porsche 911 GT3, and a Venom 800TT, the Pagani's got the most. The purr, the awesome interior, and well...the looks. It's got the entire load. Fast, fun, and I won one :). I race my neighbor almost every day and he has a venom 650R, so far, I've lost once out of 67 times. This shows that the Pagani is reliable, fast, never loses performance, and well, has a nice purrrrr!!! :) |

"The Zonda looks incredible and i dont, nay, CANT find anything wrong with the it. What i really want, though, is to hear this MB 7.3 liter at 5500 rpms. THAT would be incredible. My eyes water just thinking about it. If Pagani keeps this up, we will see another small time rival to Ferrari. And for those of you who whine about the price or repair facilities; when someone buys a work of art like this, they obviously have the money to keep it maintained. Italian autobody shops shouldn't be too difficult to find, especially in the United States. Pagani, you have my full support." |
| Beautiful! |
| iPaQ86 4-4-2003 |
Have u seen Top Gear's review on the Pagani Zonda C12 7.3 Vs. Lambo Murc? They compared the cars side by side in a sprint test, and u should have seen how the Zonda sprint away from the Murc, many many car-lengths apart. And around a race track designed by Lotus, the Zonda was 6 secs faster than the Lam. Never mind it has a natually-aspirated Mercedes-Benz engine(we can't expect much from a MB engine) that produces a low bhp/litre figure. It makes up for TORQUE, and since it has a carbon-fibre body, it is extremely light! Design is cued from the F15 fighter jet, no wonder it is so beautiful! The interior especially, is very beautiful and special too. It makes the Murc's and Ferrari's interiors look BORING. |
| Zonda Owners ???? |
| Marlennium 20-3-2003 |
Does anybody actually owns a Zonda? Guess not. I do. I truly believe its one of the most powerful and beautiful machines on the face of this planet. If anybody has any comment about this car, drive it first then make a judgement. |
| 3rd best car in the world |
| bently_speed_8 16-3-2003 |
How can anyone not like this car. it is simply a marvel in the car world. sure its not a bently speed 8 (which no one can dis after its preformance in the 12 hours of sebring) and it also not a mclaren (nor does it cost 1mil) but this car have everything. As far as price is concearned if you can afford any quick car chances are you didnt save your whole life for one and probably have money coming out of your bum. For the ac vents, those things are great. how can you not like those things they simply just look like turbo gages or something. and all you pussies that say it dosnt have enough horse power, what are you talking about 550 was plenty the last time i checked and its not like you cant upgrade the motor. there is always shit you can do to make your car faster. the interior is super especially with those speakers for your balls right in the seat those things are great. Even though gt3 is a great game you cant judge a car based on it just like you cant judge a book by the cover. well i could defend this car all day but thats all i have to say |
| practical, shmactical |
| 3-2-1-GO! 16-3-2003 |
do you think this car was built to be prctical? if pagani wanted to build a practical car they would have released a toyota camry look-alike! why does every-body have to dis companies just because they do somethey a little different? to many cars these days look alike, it's nice to see some different styling. just give people a little credit for having a little imagination! |
| Don't judge until you have stood next to a Pagani |
| powerfiend 7-3-2003 |
Everyone seems to have something negative to say about the Pagani, I personally have met Mr Pagani in Italy and he is a genius and a very kind man I was shown all through his factory and was allowed to look at their static production line. Don't knock a Pagani until you have seen one in the flesh. I'm one of the biggest lamborghini fans there is but this car is truly incredible, when I was at the factory a customers car was there for a photo shoot it hadn't been painted, it just had a high gloss finish, Um Um pure carbon fibre. |
| sinply beautiful |
| haseeb-exotic 6-3-2003 |
i just love this car.over here in the uae it costs nearly 2 million dhirhams.thats nearky twice as more as the murcielago. |

"As regards this cars' engine I think we should all stop and think about a few things. One of which is engine supply. I'm sorry to say that, all you would be car designers out there, will have problems sourcing the engines you wish to drop into your cars. Secondly one must find a drivetrain that fits in the remaining space, Thirdly, while BHP is very important, to race drivers, you and I will notice in gear flexibility much more, i.e. torque curves. Fourth and final point (really got to do some work now), clients of Pagani, have no wish for their dream cars highly stressed engine to detonate behind their ears. One must remember Pagani is a relatively new company and has neither the money to develop their own engine, nor the cache of a badge like ferrari for owners to just ""put up with"" mechanical problems. TVR are slowly managing to shake off their dodgy history as regards to engine problems with some of their older models. P.S. I too favour BHP over torque, but I like to think I'm a racing driver at heart." |
| RE:Zonda,Murcielago to much like diablo? BwhahA! |
| VT Fusion 5-3-2003 |
Thats amazing... i dont see it do you? the design no.. the engine, yeah maybe like the diablo 6.0..because it was released only a year before it, what do you expect, compare to the original Diablo... design too. Nothing alike. Maybe the Murcielago isnt a big a advance as the diablo was over the countach. but eh. As for the Zonda, i agree with motorhead, Although i dont disrespect the car, its not all that for the price. For one its has a very low BHP/L for a super car... 7.3 ltr engine? they dont need that to get 550 BHP.. is it just me or does that add extra weight for no reason. As seen by the Mclaren its not hard to get over 600BHP from a 6ltr engine, theres no need for a 7.3.. the extra tourque doesnt matter when that weight is added. If the Murcielago had things like an alloy chassis, the weight would not be such a problem, but then again this is a reason the price on the murc is much lower than cars in its category, but i still hope they focus on weight reduction in their next model. The design isnt that great IMO, The murc isnt perfect but more of a road car than this.. this is a race car pretty much, and compared to decent well known race cars its not much of one at that. I think the diablo is more the car to compete with this, and its a bit unfair seeing it was made so long ago, more outgoing style, RWD on the older models.. similar HP (from a smaller engine!) and a nice mix between road and race. This is one of the reasons i would like Lamborghini to make a more racing orientated car, with a more thrilling design like the diablo. As for Pagani, they have made a good entry to the market, but they dont make cars i desire yet, sure i havent driven one... but i have in GT3:D it was a good performer but nothing new and spectacular for the price, ofcourse in GT3 there wasnt anything better for the price... no ferrari/lambo etc in that world.. |
| figuretively people!!! |
| motorhead 4-3-2003 |
"Why are all of you all taking the ""go kart"" thing so seriously? I do not know about all of you all but i think the drivers car here and the car that is much more usable is the murcielago and not this. This is manic and only a stupid fool would call this car practical. The zonda is much lighter then the murcielago obviously but the lamborghinis performance is not that far off from the zonda and it is much cheaper and does not hurt the eyes when you look at it. The zonda to most people is that it is a oversized go kart which is reasonably quick and very very very expensive!!" |
| Go Kart eh? if a go Kart weights 4000lb, then sure... |
| RacingManiac 4-3-2003 |
Murcielago is a go kart, I mean it ONLY weighs a scant 1150lb more than the Pagani Zonda here.......the difference in power to weight ratio has to be like next to nothing right? |
| Untouchable |
| ds_carfan 3-3-2003 |
This car gives a new definition to extreme. With a 7.3litre Mercedes engine and 555hp, this car is amazing. I love everything this car has to offer. From the lustrious engine to the fine peaks of horsepower, to the undeniable beauty of the car's design, simply, untouchable! |
| To motorhead.... |
| Unknown 2-3-2003 |
If all automobiles that strived for a light weight were considered 'go karts' then I'd say that nearly all supercars would be, well, 'go karts'. All high-performance cars are made to be light weight, and the Murcielago is no exception. Second, so what if it's not their own engine? Many beautiful cars borrow engines from other manufacturers. Just look at the McLaren F1 and its beautifully-crafted BMW powerplant... The Pagani Zonda is a no-less serious car than the Lamborghini. It is still in its early stages as a company. That's what companies that have just been born do: they borrow engines from other firms. With time, if Pagani is successfull, expect Pagani engines. |
| lamborghini will never think of such a thing |
| motorhead 1-3-2003 |
As you and all of us know, the lamborghini murcielago is a joint project between audi and lamborghini but lambo was not interested in making a go kart like this zonda here. I say go kart because pagani is trying to make their car as light as possible but the only difference is that they have a damn big engine and their engine is not even theirs. Yes their car is very quick and reaches a very high topspeed but is that everything. It looks like a US$300,000 oversized go kart. It may be good in terms of straight line speed but it not very good through hairpins and chicanes. Top gear featured both the murcielago and the zonda during their first episode and the zonda thrashed the murcielago(i am proud of only that)in terms of straight line speed and on the track but overall it was not really the drivers car it was the murcielago that was the drivers car and anyway this car was not built for people who want a car which is very usable like the lambo. I have something against lambos but i respect them but i do not respect pagani at all. A car which does not really make a big impact in the car industry costing 3 times the price of a murcielago or a 575M? Lamborghini and Ferrari and both very upmarket cars which cost a bomb but i do not know of anyone who would want a car from a company which just started and has a cost which is quite close to a nuclear reactor!! Not good at all!!! |
| What the Murcielago Could've Been.... |
| Unknown 1-3-2003 |
Every Lambo we've seen up till now was groundbraking in design, original. The Murcielago looks too much like the Diablo. But the Pagani Zonda, it has that curvaceous, aggressive form, which is in many ways similar to Marcello Gandini's wonderful doings. Just put some more squareish headlamps at the front, make a few more minor changes, and you have what SHOULD have been the new Lamborghini. Nice... |
| hazard button |
| Justin Syder 28-2-2003 |
The hazard button is for the hazard lights in the rear of the car. If you have a flat tire or if you want to let people know that you are in slight trouble you put your hazard lights on. They are blinking in the tail lights when you activate them. This car is great and I saw the BBC special where it killed the Murcielago in the straight line test and on the course lap times. This was my favorite car since seeing it and playing it in Grand Turismo 3. It looks like a excotic sports car and sets itself from the pack of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others. |
| Just beautiful |
| bosshcco 27-2-2003 |
"Omg, this car is absolutely amazing. I just might have found my new favourite car brand (it used to be lambo for a looong time). I remeber seeing the ""old"" Zonda vs Mucirelago on Top Gear, and Zonda, even though it was a bit slower in the corners, simply smoked it on their test course. And interior is great as well, those air vents look fine to me, don't know why some people complain. Truly an amazing car." |
