 CTS-V after 2 weeks

"I traded my 2002 Z06 for a CTS-V two weeks ago. Let there be no mistake about itthe C5 in general and the Z06 in particular are terrific, if not perfect, automobiles. I simply couldn't use the Corvette enough. So, I opted for something practical, usable, and quick. I looked at a lot of cars and opted for the CTS-V. (I still can't see myself owning a Cadillac, but as my wife said, ""This is NOT a Cadillac."" My impressions so far are good. The extra 700 pounds take their toll on Z06 performance, but the car is nonetheless quick. It's rock solid, handles great, and comfortable. And its usable. Brembos are terrific. Lots of features. Lots to learn. So far, I'd do it again, but I do miss the Z06"
 The new CTS-V is Great!

Man this is such a beautiful car, and now I feel ready to retire the camaro to the garage as a project car and replace it with something as equally performed, and way more luxurious. This is probably what i have been waiting for, for quite some time now. And what more could one ask for, an m6 offered in it too. I seen some comments regarding not having formula 1 transmissions or even tiptronic transmissions, however the reality is behind such a powerful motor those transmissions would flop (and in due time). The 50/50 weight distribution @ 3800 lbs is also a plus for such a luxurious and apparently comforting ride. My '98 Camaro Z28 doesn't have near 50/50 weight distribution and weighs is at 3800 lbs as well. Great Kudos to GM!
 You are getting there!

I'm a true American muscle car fan, I own a 69 impala ss, so I think your Cadi rocks, I also think finally G.M. is recovering the pride and passion of the good old days. Unfortunately I must agree with some of the comments displayed here, if I'm going to pay 50k for the CTS-V I expect to be able to choose from a very wide colour spectrum, and just a suggestion, the new Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, has a Formula one shifter on the stirring wheel, can't Cadillac put one too on its CTS-V? DOESN'T SUCH AN IMPRESSIVE CAR DESERVE TO HAVE THE BEST OF THE BEST? common, you're definitely on the right track but in my Opinion Cadillac should be better than BMW, Mercedes or any body else out there, Hope to continue seeing wonderful developments for Cadillac and the whole of the G.M. line for the years to come. You can get there, risk a little more it will pay off. Way to go!!!

Hey, Pole. What kind of weeny would complain about a manual tranny in a Cadillac? It's about time they did it. Maybe you should stick to the Devilles with the other old men! The car is great and this driving enthusiast just ordered one instead of supporting the economies of other countries!
 Closebut no cigar?

The CTS-V sounds terrific! I've talked to my dealer about trading a Z06 for one. (Four-place car with Z06 performance for $50K? Sounds perfectalmost.) I agree with the earlier post: Cadillac should NOT limit my color choices to only two. I've had two black carsnever again. (I already have a full-time job.) Silver? Not my choice. If I can guy a BMW, Mercedes, Lexuseven a Ford Focusin virtually any color that's available, why can't I with a new Cadillac? The $30K base CTS is available in white, redeven a terrible copper color. Want the top-of-the-line car... Sorry. Cadillac is on the right track. Unfortunately, they think they know more about what consumers want than the buyer. Finally, how much work would it be to put an Audi A6 interior in a CTS? Come on Cadillac. The dash looks like it was lifted from a Chevy S-10 pickup. Kick up the interior quality and I might even consider a black car!
 Great!!!!!!!!!!

"Cadillac is doing well !!! And here I thought the pure CTS was fast. Frankly I might actually prefer one of these over a Z06........... The styling lines are impressive, and the ""sport"" additions to the car, such as the new-mesh grille etc., only further denote its ""performance"" purpose. Maybe a 2-door CTS ..................:)"
parking brake is on wrong place!!!

ok i'm extremely criticize on e-brake's placement... if you use foot-operated, mercedes-style park brake with column shifter or auto, that's fine with me... but with manual tranny!!!? that's an outrage! how can ya expect me to slam4 pedals without panic!!? damn... Cadillac should redesign CTS's interior and stuff the hand brake lever next to the shifter! oh yeah... why not CTS have six passenger version!?

I understand the CTS-V will only be available in silver or black. Cadillac should go all out on this car (4-door ZO-6), and offer more color choices like copper sunburst, white, or red.
 Whuttttttttttttt THE!

Why? Why choose this particular car to represent what Cadillac is made of, why not choose the Seville (STS) or XLR? Why choose this? Personally, I CHOOSE, so i purposely pretend not to see any difference from the CTS and the CTS-V...what a load of BS
