first of all, the car is beautiful..especially for a Bentley. Ok, so it doesn't really look that much like a Bentley either, but the badge is still there which retains some "dignity". And second......is there someone driving the Hunaudieres in either of those pictures??? I give the Bentley Hunaudieres a respectable 7.5/10 |
An inspired design |

I believe that this Bentley is a successful design concept and one which should not be so harshly judged. There are numerous Bentley details to be found on the Hunaudieres. For example, the pronounced rear-panel detailing (which was blatently inspired by the S-series and R-type Continental), the four headlamps which can be found on every Bentley produced within the last twenty years. Even the grille-shape is inspired by past Bentley's. Surely these are obvious 'Bentley-ish' features? Anyway, I feel that it is a stunning, muscular and powerful concept which certainly had the effect that I'm sure Bentley (and VW) desired - It got the company publicity. |
Class? |

Just curious, how would this car be the classiest? When will it have that other cars in its rank do not? Better design? Well, the design is good, but not strikingly above all else. Four wheel drive? Sound system? Leather? I personally do not see how it would prevail as classier than a Veyron, F1, or some other fine supercar. |
CLassiest Supercar |

It's a shame that Bentley never pursued this project just as the world got interested once more. If it ever went into produciton, it would be the classiest and most expensive-looking (probably because it would eventually be)supercar. Easily the most gorgeous! Too bad then that the Bentley Boys think otherwise and either way, I would be able to afford one. Sob. But oh! Such a waste! |
Is there anything Bentleyish in there? |

This prototype was presented almost simultaneously with the Veyron. I remember it, I just happend to see a picture showing the front of the Veyron (I think it was the bluedark blue variant) and the next page there was this Hunaudieres. Frankly since both Bugatti and Bentley were recent additions to the VWAudi family I thought they designed this one in the spare time they had while creating the Veyron concept. The meaningless design of this is hardly concealed under the horrible abundance of chromed parts, I can't really tell if there'e any single piece of this car that has anything to do with Bentley. Anyway later on I also happend to see some side and rear shots of the Veyron, and well... I think it looks like a potato, maybe a damn fast one, but still a potato. |
Hello Hunaudieres! |

And to think, they cancelled this project for the Continental GT. That so sucks, because this car would be more exclusive, more exquisite, and probably not as ugly as the GT. Make this, Bentley, or god help your souls.... |
Whats in a name? |

Bentley have a tradition of naming their cars after different parts of the Le Mans race track, such as the Arnage and Mulsanne, the Hunaudieres is a corner on the Mulsanne straight, and is one heck of a mouthfull if your not French |
Very nice car |

I think it's a great shame these haven't gone into production, they look seriously cool, and have a lot of power. Hopefully Bentley will change their minds and start producing these |
Looks to be a promising contender |

I think that this could be a main competitor in the super exotic sports cars including the Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Bugatti Veyron 16/4, etc. But am i being to snobby but i think that they could probably get more than 800 b.h.p. out of a 16 cylinder engine. Maybe im wrong because it only has 8 liters of displacement(the new Dodge Viper has just a bit more)but still, that is a massive engine and Bentley has had some experience with tuning engines(Bentley EXP Speed 8 ALMS Racer). Anyways, im sure they wont have any trouble with the suspension. My only other concern is about the styling. I like its uniqueness and its extremely smooth design but the front is too plain they need some molding in the hood or above the headlights. When you look at the front end and compare it too the side of the car there is a big difference. But im sure that if this comes into production, it will look much more different than its current prototype. Last thing, whats the deal with the name. It doesnt sound to British to me. Maybe im missing something but even when the new Ferrari was still a prototype, the name FX had some relation but Hunwhatchumacallit just doesnt connect in my opinion. |
