Chassis:
Completed in early 1969, this Mk3B was delivered new to Michael Grace d’Udy on March 7th. It was raced by Frank Gardner with considerable success during the 1969 season, scoring outright victories in the Oulton Park Gold Cup and with De Udy as co-drover at Killarney in South Africa and Lourenço Marques in Morocco. It was then shared by De Udy and Mike Hailwood in the Sebring 12 Hours before it was leased to Solar Productions for the Le Mans movie. It was subsequently owned by Rod Leach and Terry Jones, who had the tub re-skinned by Jim Chapman and had a Dennis Fischer 5.7-litre engine fitted. Among the subsequent owners was Bob Akin, who regularly raced it in historic events between 1994 and 2000. It changed several times since until it was acquired by the current custodians in 2017. It was restored to its 1969 specification and livery, and has continued to be raced in historic events since.
