Chassis:
Originally completed as one of the naturally aspirated, 2.8 litre engined Carrera RSRs, chassis 911 360 0576 or 'R5' was extensively raced in the 1973 World Championship by the works team. Over the winter, it was upgraded to Turbo 2.1 specification and extensively tested. In 1974, it was pressed into service just once, for Manfred Schurti and Helmuth Koenigg's Imola 1000 km entry. Sadly, they were not classified at the end of the race, and the car was not raced again. It was eventually sold by the factory and spent time in prominent Japanese and American collections. Now in French hands, it was completely restored to full running order by German experts Freisinger in time for the 2014 Le Mans Classic.
