Chassis:
The final works RSR built, and the fourth Turbo 2.1, chassis R13 was first raced by Helmuth Koenigg and Manfred Schurti during the Le Mans 4 Hours. Later in the season, it re-appeared in the hands of Gijs van Lennep and Herbert Muller, who drove it to a remarkable second overall in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, beaten only by one of the howling Matras. A month later, they also placed second at Watkins Glen. In 1977, it was dusted off and raced at Daytona and Mid Ohio but with little success. Soon after, it was sold to legendary Porsche importer Vasek Polak, who had been one of the driving forces behind Porsche's hugely successful Can-Am campaign. He would own the car for over two decades and it then passed through the hands of noted American collectors Jeff Lewis, Greg Galdi and John Kotts. In 2010, it joined a formidable London-based collection.
