Chassis:
The first of three M482s built, this example is the only one that raced in 1982. In its sole appearance that year, it qualified a lowly 27th for the Silverstone 1000km and was forced to retire early with cracked bodywork and suspension. The planned Le Mans entry that year was scratched and it did not appear again until Le Mans the following year. Starting 27th, chassis 001 suffered an engine failure that ended the charge. It returned to Le Mans in 1984, under American ownership, and finally managed to score a finish, placing 13th at the end of the race. The Rondeau would race at Le Mans a further three times, finishing 13th in 1986 and 12th in 1987. After five appearances at Le Mans, the Rondeau was retired from contemporary racing and displayed in the Le Mans museum for many years. In more recent years, it was sold at auction, resplendent in its 1983 Le Mans livery.
