Chassis:
Before the the Group C program was axed by the Ford Motor Company, a sixth tub had been constructed. While similar to the earlier chassis, it had been earmarked for the new-for-1990 AMR2. That project did not get beyond a full-size wind-tunnel model. A valuable asset, the chassis was eventually build up to a complete car using the stock of spares and AMR1 bodywork. The completed car was sold to an American collector, who retained the car through to 2019. It was then acquired by the Ascott Collection and completely rebuild for historic racing by specialists Scott Sport. After a single outing with during the 2020 Monza Historic with Ascott's Xavier Micheron at the wheel, it changed hands once more. It returned to action at the 2022 Le Mans Classic.
