Chassis:
Built around the Nigel Stroud designed aluminium honeycomb chassis for Richard Lloyd Racing, this 962C was first used at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989. Liveried in black and silver Raika colours, it was driven by Steven Andskar, David Hobbs and Damon Hill. They started 23rd and climbed up to ninth overall before engine issues prompted a retirement in the 14th hour. That year, chassis 962-201 managed to reach the finish only once, placing 11th at the ADAC Trophy Nürburgring race where the car was entered for Porsche GB and raced by Bertrand Gachot and Steven Andskar. For the 1990 season, the 962C was re-finished in the pink and white colours of Italya Sports. It was raced in the World Sports Car Championship by Manuel Reuter with James Weaver, Steven Andskar and Perry McCarthy as co-drivers. A pit fire brought the charge at Le Mans to another early end but 962-201 did score two third-place finishes late in the season. It was then retired from contemporary racing and joined the stable that would be known as the Historic Porsche Collection. It was successfully raced in historic events during the 2000s. Ahead of the 2023 season, it was acquired by a young Hong Kong-based historic racer.
