Chassis:
Built to GT2 Evo specifications to compete in the GT1 category, this example was delivered new to the works backed Larbre Competition team. It was entered in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans for Jean-Pierre Jarier, Jésus Pareja and Erik Comas. The car was running in the top five when the very wet conditions caught out Pareja, who slid off the road. The car was repaired at the factory and then pressed backed int service with Larbre during the 1996 season. It was campaigned in the BPR Championship and during the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Labre raced the car at Le Mans for a third time in 1997 and it was driven to the title in the French GT Championship. It then returned to the La Sarthe circuit for a fourth outing with subsequent owner Michel Nourry. He also raced the car in the French GT Championship in 1998 and 1999. Third owners were the Almeras brothers, who continued to campaign the car through to the end of the 2002, when it was runner-up in the French GT Championship.
Sold to a collector in 2003, it was restored to its 1995 Le Mans livery. Through the Ascott Collection, it was then sold to a British historic racer in the early 2020s. He had it meticulously restored by specialists GTR Porsche and Maxted-Page, once again opting to use the 1995 Larbre Comptition livery. Literally assembled a few days before the event, the 911 GT2 was first raced following the restoration at the 2023 Le Mans Classic.
