Completed late in 1972, this 911 Carrera RS Lightweight was finished in Gulf Blue, which was a nod to legendary 917 and 908/03 competition cars sporting this colour. Of the 18 Carrera RS 2.7s originally painted this shade of blue, only four were Lightweights. It was sold to an enthusiast in Sweden through Volkswagen Sverige, which was the country’s official Porsche distributor. The car changed hands several times early in its life until it was acquired by Lars Sundman in 1976. He would go on to own the car for 11 years and then it finally left Sweden for the United States. It returned to Europe in 2011 and was meticulously maintained by specialist Maxted-Page during the 2010s. Having previously changed hands in 2021, 911 360 0269 was consigned to headline the 2023 online-only Gooding Geared Online - December sale.
