Chassis:
Built late in 1994, this is the very first 911 GT2 competition car built and one of three dispatched to preferred Porsche customer racing teams. Production number 1460001 was finished in Speed Yellow and sold new to Rohr Racing, who were based in West Chester, Ohio. It was immediately entered in the Daytona 24 Hours for Jochen Rohr himself and David Murry, Bernd Mayländer and Hurley Haywood. It finished fourth overall and second in the GTS1 class. It was then also raced at Sebring where a mechanical issue prompted an early retirement. Later that year podiums were scored at Phoenix, Road America and Trois-Rivières. It then crashed out of the 1996 Daytona 24 Hours. Damage was limited so, as later confirmed by Jochen Rohr, it was repaired rather than re-tubbed as was common practice. Its final contemporary outing came at Watkins Glen before it was sold to a private collector in 1997. The long-term owner then offered the car with its original at auction in 2018 and it has since changed hands at least once more. Today, it is part of a German collection, who reunited the car with Jochen Rohr at the 2025 Dix Mille Tours.
