Great thread, brings back some good memories.

I was lucky enough to grow up about a mile from Donington Park, and have seen ETCC Donington 500's in the pouring rain right through to present day DTM.

So many great cars, TWR Jaguar and SD1, Volvo 240, RS500, Holdens, and the beautiful 635 CSi. I even have an internet football team called Bastos Rovers! Also a huge fan of everything Group C.

I will have a look through my photos and memorabilia and see what I can find to post.

It's a 7x5 photo that has been cropped!

I've just found some A3 posters, but they are too big for my A4 scanner! Is it possible to merge scans?

I`ve seen that Ford Escort as a scale model made by Corgi before, but I had no idea who the driver was,

Have you got any more photos of those Ford Escorts in the BTCC?

Hello Chaps I have just joined, I am very intrested in the comments about the 80ies BTCC, espishally the Escorts, mainly the RS1600i, Read in a past post the someone was asking about the Corgi blue striped RS1600i and asking who was the driver! The driver was Chris Hodgetts, He won with that RS1600i No 69, Group A in 1985... this car is still alive and kicking.

Would you happen to know who drove the "Total" "BHP Productions" Ford Escort RS1600i then?

As I have a Corgi Model of this car, someone told we a while ago that it could have been barry sheene?? , I`m not sure tho,

Another Touring Car I`d like more info on is the Ford Capri 3.0S That raced in the BTCC In the mid 80`s, It had "Juicy Jeans" , "Esso" & "Daily Mirror" sponsors on it,

Anyone know who drove this car?

Also would anyone have any photos of it?

    Thanks!

The RS1600i that Chris Hodgetts drove ( the same as your model) develops 162 bhp now, it can be found here ( http://www.rs1600i.net/econtent.php?view=brooklyn ) some of its history is also there. I think barry Sheen was driving a Toyota in the mid 80ies.

    Ford Mondeo BTCC

    Hi

I think that the best touring car of all time has to be the 2000 BTCC Ford Mondeo, it won the manufacturers title mid-season and took 1,2 and 3 in the drivers championship with Alain Menu finishing on 195 points beating Anthony reid to 1st place by 2 points with 193 points and Rickard Rydell finishing third on 178. It was a fantastic season for Ford and for their drivers, especially as the champinship went right down to the last race of the season where the title could go 1 of 3 ways.
