2026-04-23: Track-only Bugatti and Lamborghini headed for auction ...
Bugatti Bolide For this weekend's Monaco sale, RM Sotheby's has consigned a pair of track-only hypercars. Offering the most impressive performance is this Bugatti Bolide. One of 40 built, this example was equipped with €291,000 worth of options, which included the two-tone exterior finish. Since taking delivery of the car in 2024, chassis 004 was used only sparingly and is now estimated to sell for €3.5 - €4.5 million.
From the same family comes this Lamborghini Essenza SCV12. Also limited to 40 examples, the Essenza features a 830 bhp V12 engine and can be run as part of a special Lamborghini Corse programme. The example consigned has seen some use and should find a new owner for €1,200,000 - €1,800,000.
We are also in the Principality to cover the biennial Monaco Historic Grand Prix from which an in-depth report will follow shortly after the event.
2026-04-21: Striking Porsche 918 Spyder and rare Porsche CK5 headed for auction ...
Porsche 918 Spyder At the upcoming Porsche Air|Water event in Cosa Mesa, California, Broad Arrow Auctions will stage the official sale. Consigned as the headliner is this low mileage Porsche 918 Spyder. It was finished in a very distinct Paint to Sample Riviera Blue, which is inspired by the fabulous French Riviera coast. It was also equipped with the desirable Weissach Package and removable carbon-fibre composite roof panels. Chassis 048 is now estimated to sell for $4.5 - $5.5 million.
Another interesting car on the lot list is this Kremer CK5 Group C racer. The CK5 was built by the legendary Kremer brothers to compete at Le Mans, awaiting the arrival of the customer version of the Porsche 956. It was constructed around a 936 inspired chassis, using existing Porsche components from the 935 and 917. The example on offer this weekend is the second chassis constructed, which was raced at Le Mans in 1983. It continued to be raced through to 1985 and was later owned by Walter Wolf and Freisinger Motorsport. Now once again boasting its Le Mans livery, the beautifully preserved machine has recently been shown at several events but has not yet seen action in historic racing.
2026-04-16: First-ever 911 GT3 convertible, new coach-built Rolls and one-off Pagani ...
Porsche 911 GT3 S/C For the first time ever, Porsche has produced a convertible version of the hardcore 911 GT3 model. Known as the 911 GT3 S/C, the 992 II generation machine shares its underpinnings with the GT3 and has a similar specification as the acclaimed Touring version. Despite the addition of a fabric foldaway roof and structural reinforcements required to maintain rigidity, the 911 GT3 S/C still tips the scales at under 1,500 kg. It is also available with the optional Street Style Package that includes special graphics.
Rolls-Royce has launched the new Coachbuild Collection programme with the Project Nightingale. Based on the British company's battery-electric platform, it features a bespoke convertible design with smoother lines than the 'regular' Rolls-Royce production models. Although close to six metres in length, the two-door Project Nightingale seats only two passengers.
To headline the upcoming flag-ship Villa d'Este Auction, Broad Arrows has consigned this one-off Pagani Zonda 760 Unica Roadster. This fittingly named model was built for a discerning customer in 2018. It has since been regularly shown in events and actually covered a commendable 2,617 km during this period. The American auction company estimates the Unica Roadster should find a new owner for at least €9.5 million.
2026-04-13: 2026 Espiritu de Montjuic report and 180-shot gallery ...
2026 Espiritu de Montjuic report and 180-shot gallery The European historic racing season kicked off last month at the Circuito de Barcelona-Catalunya with the Espiritu de Montjuic. It was also the launch of the Le Mans Classic Series, which is the new official name of the Historic Racing by Peter Auto championship. While the name may have changed, it was business as usual with almost all of the familiar grids present. These included the Sixties' Endurance, Classic Endurance Racing and Endurance Racing Legends fields. These provided nearly non-stop action from first thing on Friday morning through to the early evening on Sunday. Helped by great weather conditions, it turned out to be a spectacular weekend of racing. In addition to the races, there was also a Formula 1 demonstration and a celebration of the career of local hero Emilio de Villota.
As always, our photographers were on hand to capture all the action. The result of three days of hard labour is this 180-shot gallery and a concise report with a rundown of all the races.
2026-04-10: Rally and F1 racers headed for auction and track-bound Ariel Atom ...
Audi Quattro A2 Group B For the upcoming flag-ship Monaco Sale, Bonhams Cars has consigned an interesting array of competition cars. The selection is headlined by this Audi Quattro A2 Group B, which was driven to victory in the Rally of Portugal by Hannu Mikkola. It had originally been constructed to A1 specification and raced in the Rally Monte Carlo. Later in the season, it was converted to A2 guise. Following its works duties, 85ZDA900018 continued to be raced well into 1990s.
Another rally car due to cross the block is this Lancia Stratos HF Group 4, which has extensive period racing histories in Italy. Chassis 1754 is now offered from a single ownership of over four decades and is estimated to sell for €750,000 - 900,000.
One of the consignments that could be raced immediately at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix is this Lotus 16 Climax. It is the first chassis built and was raced for Team Lotus by Graham Hill and Cliff Allison. Since the late 1970s, it has been regularly raced in historic events. Chassis 362 represents a €450,000 - 650,000 ticket into events like the Monaco Historic Grand Prix and the Goodwood Revival.
Specialist manufacturer Ariel has introduced the track-only Atom 4RR. Based on the Atom 4 production road car, it features a 525 bhp version of the Honda-based engine. Combined with the lightweight chassis, the turbocharged 'four' is capable of propelling the Atom 4RR to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds.
2026-04-07: Sauber Mercedes and Porsche Group C cars ...
Sauber Mercedes C11 For many years the late Jochen Mass was a stalwart at the Goodwood event and it still feels strange going to the Members' Meeting next week knowing he won't be there. At last year's Festival of Speed, the Goodwood team remembered the great German racer. The inside of the bridge crossing the track was lined with pictures of Mass in the various cars he raced and there were also several cars out on the hill that he campaigned in his illustrious career. Among them was this fabulous Sauber Mercedes C11, which he drove towards the end of his career. He served not only as a driver but also as a mentor to junior drivers like Michael Schumacher and Karl Wendlinger. So it was very fitting that the C11 from the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection was demonstrated at Goodwood by Mass his protege Karl Wendlinger. Former team-mate Derek Bell was back behind the wheel of a works Porsche 962C. This car was raced in period with a PDK dual clutch gearbox and in 1988 was shared by three Andrettis; Michael, Mario and Jeff. Recently returned to its 1987 Rothmans colours, 962-008 was driven at Goodwood by Bell and the car's owner.
Another Group C car that grabbed our attention was this Porsche 956, which was one of the stars of the recent Retromobile show. One of just six customer cars built to the 956B or works specification, this car was originally raced by the Kremer Racing team. It lead at Le Mans during the 1984 race and was campaigned as late as 1986. Chassis 956-115 has benefited from a recent restoration to its 1984 Le Mans configuration and is current for sale with Fiskens.
2026-04-01: Fabulous Ferraris headed for RM Sotheby's Monaco sale ...
Ferrari LaFerrari For the upcoming Monaco Sale, RM Sotheby's has consigned a selection of fabulous Ferraris. The most striking is undoubtedly this LaFerrari, which was built to custom order for Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay and finished a striking 'Signal Green'. Shortly after taking delivery, chassis 203504 was demonstrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed by the legendary musician and collector. It is now estimated to sell for €4 - €4.5 million. Also available at the sale in the Principality is a fabulous example of the FXX-K Evo, which was the track-only version of the LaFerrari. This was one of just 20 built by the factory in Evo specification from new.
The headliner of the auction is this 250 GT SWB California Spyder, which should sell for in excess of €14.5 million. It was originally shown at the IAA in Frankfurt and was more recently entered in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance following a complete restoration.
Fittingly, there are also a pair of Grand Prix cars consigned to the Monaco sale. The earliest of two is the 312 T3, which is the fifth of five built. It was raced in period by Carlos Reutemann and Gilles Villeneuve. Having spent many years in an Italian collection, it is now offered for sale together with a 642 F1 from 1991. Not actually raced in period, it was the spare for Alain Prost at several events before the model was replaced by the 643 F1 halfway through the season.
